The international organization Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA) has selected Curaçao as the best cruise port of the year.During the most recent CSA conference, Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) had the honor of receiving the prestigious ‘Nathan Dundas Cruise Port Award.’ A technical team from the CSA analyzed various ports based on their investments and progress to improve the operation and efficiency of their cruise ports.
The effort and support of the cruise community in Curaçao were crucial to achieving this success. CPA will continue to work with its stakeholders to further strengthen the cruise sector, which will undoubtedly contribute to the economic development of Curaçao.
For 2024, CPA expects to receive more than 300 cruise ships, equivalent to approximately 825,000 cruise passengers, an increase of over 15% compared to 2023. To continue expanding the cruise business, CPA implemented a second mega pier in 2017, valued at 40 million dollars, and is now preparing to launch phase 2 of the Rif Seaport project, which includes the development of a new cruise terminal. The goal is to grow the cruise market and reach at least one million passengers per year.
