On June 3, Curaҫao Ports Authority NV (CPA) announced the winner of the “Name the Pier Contest” as “Tula.” It was a close call with all three finalists, King Willem Alexander, Caiquetio and Tula, receiving solid support from the community during the voting period but in the end Tula received the majority of votes.

More than one candidate submitted an entry that contained the name Tula. Therefore, a raffle was held by CPA at the announcement of the winning name, to pick the winner for the cruise for two. The lucky winner was Mayerline Randt.

The second mega cruise ship pier is expected to be finished by early 2017, allowing Curaҫao to welcome more of the larger cruise vessels to our island. Cruise visitors will enjoy improved linkages from well-functioning ground transportation zones and expanded pedestrian plazas and sidewalks to the current cruise site and Willemstad.
