World Maritime Week 2025

Curaçao Port Authority (CPA) hosted a successful World Maritime Week from September 23–25, 2025, at Mathey Wharf, as part of the World Maritime Day 2025.

The three-day event welcomed more than 450 students from various secondary schools across Curaçao under the IMO’s official theme: “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity.”

Mrs. Susan Larmonie-van Heydoorn, General Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, and Mr. Humberto de Castro, CEO of Curaçao Port Authority both emphasized the importance of maritime operations and highlighted the sector’s significant contribution to Curaçao’s economic development.

Students had the opportunity to engage directly with key players and professionals in our maritime sector. It was a week filled with discovery, hands-on learning, and inspiration for the next generation of maritime professionals.
